We are the financial planning branch of Advantage Advisors (Chartered Accountants & Advisors), which originated in the 1920's with David Murphy, a prominent accountant at that time, who was subsequently joined in partnership by W J S (Stan) Horsfall.  On retirement of Stan Horsfall in 1949, A H G (Hugh) Clarke MBE, DFC became a partner shortly after returning from active service in Europe during World War II having been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.  He became the sole principal in 1951 on the death of David Murphy.  Thereafter the practice was known as A H G Clarke & Co.

Hugh Clarke died in 1968 and the practice was continued by the managers at that time.  The firm has undergone a number of name changes since that time including the change of name to Clarke & Company and then subsequently to Greenwood Clarke as a result of a change of National Association and then to Bentleys Melbourne and now to Advantage Advisors.
